BP Handyman goes to Colorado!

In March of 2008 BP and his family headed to the beautifull mountains of Colorado. Away from the traffic in Austin TX.. There nestled in the mountains above Durango, is a small cabin. The cabin, which is surrounded on three sides by national forest and a lake front, have some of the best views you could imagine.  During the winter season, the only way to get to the cabin is by snowmobile or cross country ski. The three other seasons you can drive.

BP and his family met up with the owner, which happened to be his brother.  BP and his family came here not to just work, but to enjoy the mountain air and snow as well.

My brother and I started the next day on the upstairs loft.  2x4's were added to the trusses and R-13 insulation was added. Once the insulation was installed, fiber optics where added.  Yes fiber optics? Once the fiber optics were installed, the new ceiling was ready for installation.  The ceiling is 1x6 tongue and groove Aspen wood.  While installing the ceiling, 175 fiber optic holes needed to be drilled and then the Aspen installed. Once the ceiling was completed, the fiber optics were turned on.

You can go outside and see the stars and when you go to bed, you are sleeping under the stars.

Would you like to get away from it all?

Would you like to see this project up close and personal?
